Loving our children

Do you recall the episode from the Bible in Luke 18:15-16 where it is written that ‘People were also bringing babies to Jesus for him to place his hands on them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them.  But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.’

These two particular verses explicitly show how much Jesus loved children, as they too belong to the kingdom of God. For Jesus, children who clearly also includes babies, are precious, are special, and belong to the Father.

This image of Jesus calling the children to him, puts a lot of responsibility on parents, educators and any other person to teach and show the way for children to be with Jesus. A good upbringing of children and a commitment to always love them as Jesus loved them, is a priority and of utmost importance for everyone in contact with children.

Loving children will pave their way for the kingdom of God.
